Hydraulic swing clamps are used for high pressure operations. Hydraulic fluid is used for opening or closing the clamp arm on the workpiece.
Single acting swing clamps use either hydraulic fluids or pneumatic air-actuated cylinders to apply pressure to the workpiece. When the pressure is lifted, the clamp retracts to the unclamped or extended position by the expansion of internal springs.
