Straight tooth cutters are used for general purpose applications and where a deeper cut is not required. They have more teeth than staggered cutters for a finer finish on the workpiece.
Carbide tips cuts faster than high speed steel. The carbide tip is brazed onto the steel head of a shank. It is commonly used on ferrous and nonferrous metals including cast iron, steel and steel alloys.
Uncoated tools do not feature supportive treatments on the cutting edge. They are are used at reduced speeds for general applications on nonferrous metals.
